Safety Is A Mindset is based in East Tawakoni, Texas. Our instructors run calls as firefighters and Emergency Medical Responders, and one served as a U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman. That background shapes every class: short explanations, lots of practice, and drills set in the spaces where your employees actually work.

Building Safety Culture, Not Just Compliance Records

A signed attendance sheet proves someone sat through a class. It does not prove they can apply a tourniquet with shaking hands or spot a guard missing from a machine. We design training so people leave with skills they have actually performed, not just heard about.

That means repetition, honest feedback from instructors who have used these skills on real calls, and content adjusted to your site's hazards. Compliance still matters, and our AVIRT, CPR and OSHA courses carry recognized credentials, but the goal is a team that reacts correctly without needing to look anything up.

What Is AVIRT Training?

Active Violence Immediate Response Training takes the familiar run-hide-fight message further. Instead of a single rule to remember, employees practice a framework for deciding what to do and then caring for the injured. The course covers four connected skills:

  • Situational awareness: noticing behavioral warning signs and environmental cues before a situation escalates.
  • Immediate decision-making: a simple framework for choosing to evacuate, secure a space or defend, under stress.
  • Stop the Bleed care: tourniquets, wound packing and direct pressure to control severe bleeding until EMS arrives.
  • Scenario drills: hands-on repetitions in realistic settings that turn the steps into muscle memory.

    Every inquiry starts with a complimentary safety needs assessment. We look at your current training, your hazards and any compliance deadlines, then suggest a plan.

  2. Choose a format

    Pick onsite sessions, online self-paced courses or a blend of both, sized to your headcount, shifts and budget.

  3. Train hands-on

    Instructors with fire service, emergency medical and military backgrounds run scenario-based sessions at your location.

  4. Certify and record

    Participants earn HSI, AHA or OSHA credentials as applicable, and you receive completion records for your files.

Common Questions About Our Safety Training

How is AVIRT different from older active shooter courses?

Traditional courses focus on run-hide-fight. AVIRT keeps those options but adds a decision framework for any act of violence and hands-on bleeding control, so employees can both protect themselves and keep the injured alive. Our AVIRT overview goes deeper.

Can you train our employees at our own facility?

Yes. Onsite training is a core service across Texas and the surrounding states. Instructors bring the manikins, AED trainers and bleeding-control kits; you provide a room. Locations farther away are quoted on request.

How often does CPR certification need renewing?

American Heart Association CPR and first aid cards are valid for two years. Booking the renewal a few months ahead keeps your team from lapsing.

Should my crew take OSHA 10 or OSHA 30?

OSHA 10 suits frontline workers who need hazard awareness. OSHA 30 is designed for supervisors and anyone with safety responsibilities. Many employers put crews through the 10-hour course and leads through the 30-hour.
